LAMKAT, also known as Kat Lam, is a Brooklyn-based multi-disciplinary artist known for immersive, abstract geometric murals that transform entire spaces into dynamic visual experiences. As a first-generation Cantonese American, her work is influenced by the evolution of Chinese characters, particularly the transition from traditional to simplified forms. She is drawn to the idea that complexity can be distilled without losing meaning, translating this philosophy into abstract geometric compositions that invite multiple interpretations.
As a professional artist since 2015, Kat focuses on large-scale public and private art, creating site-responsive murals that incorporate themes of perception, growth, and spatial awareness. Her compositions often feature layered geometry, bright color palettes, and upward movement, encouraging optimism and a sense of possibility.
Kat’s work has been featured internationally, with projects across the United States, Australia, Canada, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, and Poland. Through her practice, she remains committed to fostering inclusive, welcoming environments that enhance a sense of place while continuing to push the boundaries of contemporary mural and spatial art.
